Main applications
Integral skin foam is widely used in sectors that require a balanced combination of design, comfort and resistance to intensive use.
- Office and furnishings
- Automotive
- Agricultural
- Contract Work Airports
- Medical
- Fitness
- Protective or safety elements with shock-absorption requirements
The technical properties and benefits resulting from the combination of high-quality raw materials and the maximum precision of the foaming machines make Integral Polyurethane a premium material that gives the finished product exceptional characteristics.
- High resistance to wear, tear and abrasion
- Excellent elastic behaviour and long-term durability
- Closed and continuous surface that is easy to clean and maintain
- Ability to incorporate textures or surface finishes directly from the mould
- Good resistance to hydrolysis, UV rays and chemicals (depending on the formulation)
Considerations in formulation design
The development of an efficient integral skin foam requires careful selection of components and strict control of both the process and its design and industrialisation. One particularly interesting characteristic of Integral Polyurethane, as well as Flexible Polyurethane, is the possibility of co-moulding inserts in wood, metal, plastic materials and/or rigid structural polyurethane, in order to give structure to the piece or expand the product design possibilities.
