13. FINISHING AND PACKAGING

The finishing and packaging department represents the final phase of the production cycle, and is essential for the aesthetic and functional finishing of polyurethane products and their logistical preparation.

01 FI
Finishing and Quality Control

The process begins with deburring and surface finishing, ensuring uniformity and dimensional precision. Each piece undergoes intermediate Quality Control (visual and dimensional) and Final Quality Control prior to packaging, ensuring full aesthetic and functional compliance.

Once removed from the moulds, the polyurethane products are transferred to the deburring area, where specialised operators perform the following:

  • removal of burrs and excess material;
  • surface sanding with manual or pneumatic tools;
  • any necessary aesthetic corrections to surfaces and edges.

The process ensures uniformity, dimensional accuracy and an aesthetic result that meets the required standards. Before any further processing, each workpiece undergoes a visual and dimensional inspection. The inspection includes:

  • surface examination;
  • verification of the density and homogeneity of the material;
  • control of any defects, such as porosity, deformation or imperfections.

Non-compliant products are separated for further finishing or discarded according to company procedures. The packaging area is organised to protect products during storage and transport. Here, the following activities take place:

  • application of protective materials (bags, films, spacers, etc.);
  • packaging in single or multiple boxes;
  • labelling with customer codes, batches and specifications;
  • preparation of pallets based on the agreed logistical procedures.

Packaging is designed to ensure integrity and safety during handling.

Packaging and Logistics

The packaging area is organised to provide maximum protection during storage and transport. Activities include the application of specific protective materials, packaging, labelling with codes and batch numbers, and the preparation of pallets based on the established logistical procedures.

Packaged products are finally stored in a dedicated area, ensuring full traceability and rapid batch identification for efficient shipping.
