06. PROTOTYPING
“Send us the design of your project: we will bring it to life.”
Every project begins with an idea. The prototyping of furnishing accessories or furniture components is a fundamental step that precedes the production and industrialisation of the product.
Essepieffe Italia uses advanced prototyping technologies, including 3D printing, CNC milling and laser cutting, to ensure precision and speed in product development. The company creates functional or aesthetic prototypes using 3D printing, and processes a wide range of materials, including high-density polyurethane, wood, metals, resins and plastics, selecting the most suitable option based on the customer’s specific strength and cost requirements.
3D design utilizes advanced software such as SolidWorks, ArredoCAD, and Planner 5D for modeling and analysis. Our ability to rapidly transform the customer’s concept into both a digital and physical prototype ensures fast prototyping that significantly reduces development time and costs. Customers benefit from quick and precise modifications to realistic prototypes, allowing for the timely verification of aesthetics, ergonomics and functionality before launching serial production.
Our experience enables us to prototype objects for any sector, from lighting components and table legs to furniture bases and chairs. The typical process is divided into several phases, ensuring full control over development.
- Digital Design: Creation of a 3D model from scratch or integration of a file provided by the customer.
- Physical Prototyping: Prototyping using the most suitable technique, such as 3D printing or CNC milling.
- Assessment and Testing: Execution of ergonomic, functional and aesthetic tests, with the possibility of manual modifications to the models.
- 3D Scanning and Reverse Engineering: Use of scanners (PEEL 3D) and software (PEEL CAD/VX Inspect 11) to update the mathematical model and verify tolerances.
- Finalisation: Start of serial production after the full approval of the prototype.
